Basic Info (GIS Feature Mapping) |
This is the Basic Info tab for GIS Feature Mapping. Each line in this sections describes how the values in each column in the GIS software should be processed in the mapping software.
Feature mapping type
This is linked to the Feature mapping type field on the Shared Info tab found in System Mgmt -> Setup -> GIS Configuration -> GIS Mapping Types. This will show you a choice list of items from that screen.
Feature category
This field defines the values that should be processed differently. If all features should be processed the same, the default should be entered by checking the Use default category option.
Note: Values entered here are found in the column in GIS that is specified on the GIS Mapping Types screen. For examples, records in GIS may have a field category that specifies the risk of asset failure (high, medium, or low). For each risk category, a different GIS Feature Mapping could be created and each type could be processed differently. High-risk assets may have higher default priorities and be assigned a PM Class with more frequent inspections that those assets with lower risk.
Use default category
When this check box is enabled, the feature is put into the default category.
GIS field defining asset ID
This field contains the unique identifier of the asset from GIS that corresponds to the asset Equipment ID. This ID is used to create or update the corresponding Equipment ID.
Delete
To delete the entries in the fields to the right, place a check in this field and click save.
GIS field name
This is the field that the corresponding row of information is found in the GIS database.
Maps to
This field displays where the value found in the related GIS column is stored in the software. Options are as follows:
Address
Asset Detail
Subsystem Properties
Linear Attributes
Test Results
Marker
Boundary
EAM object name
This is the object name of the EAM asset.
Default value if not set
This field is the default value the system will input into the related field if a value is not set.
Subsystem
This can be any piece of extra information set up for an asset. This field is extra detail for an asset. If a user has set up subsystems and properties, these items are available as a choice list.
Property
If a user has set up subsystems and properties, these items are available as a choice list.
Value type
This is the value type of the asset.
Test type ID
The identifier of the test type used for the mapping feature field name. If set, this must be a valid ID. If the Maps to field is set to TEST RESULTS or LINEAR ATTRIBUTES, this field is required. This field has a choice-list.
Test element ID
The identifier or the test element used for the mapping feature field name. If set, this must be a valid ID. If the Test type ID field is set, this field is required, and must be a test element associated with the test type.
Mapping use
This field uses the external data mapping screen information to translate incoming data from ArcGIS into the internal application.
Error on other value
This field defines the behavior for what happens when a mapping use is defined for this mapping, but the value coming from ArcGIS for this field does not exist as an external ID belonging to that mapping use.
If this box is unchecked, MAXQueue will use the incoming value as is.
For example, the ArcGIS field called LOCATION has a value entered of DOT-LOCATION1 and that External ID does not exist for the mapping use, the value saved to the mapped field will be DOT-LOCATION1.
If this box is checked, MAXQueue will stop processing the feature and log an error.
For example, the ArcGIS field called LOCATION has a value entered of DOT-LOCATION1 and that External ID does not exist for the mapping use, MAXQueue logs an error and will stop processing this feature.
