Move or copy text using the standard toolbar


Because most Windows-based applications use the clipboard to move or copy text and other data, you can copy and move text between different applications.

Use the Standard Toolbar to Move or Copy Text

Step 1.  Select the text that you want to move or copy.

Step 2.  Do one of the following:

To move the selection, click the Cut button (or press CTRL + X).

To copy the selection, click the Copy button (or press CTRL + C).

The text is placed on the clipboard.

Step 3.   If the new location is in another data entry or application, open or switch to that entry or application.

Step 4.   Position the cursor in the new location.

Step 5.   Click the Paste button (or press CTRL + V).
