For an equipment unit to be assigned to a motor pool, it must have the following characteristics, all of which can be specified on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.

• The Assignments tab must assign the equipment unit to a department that has a check (ü) in the Motor pool field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Departments -> Primary Information screen.

• The Motor pool dispatch location field on the Motor Pool tab must assign the equipment unit to a motor pool dispatch location that has a check (ü) in the Pool (dispatch) field on the Functions tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen.

• The Pool vehicle type field on the Motor Pool tab must identify the equipment unit as a pool vehicle type that is defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Motor Pool -> Setup -> Pool Vehicle Types screen.

• The Status tab must specify a Life-cycle status code that the Status category field on the Life Cycle Status Codes screen indicates is ACTIVE

• The Usage tickets field on the Authorization tab must contain a check (ü).

• Note: You cannot assign a motor pool department to a linear asset or a component.
