Core-claim conditions |
Claims for core parts are tracked in much the same way as warranty claims. When you issue a part from the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center, Work Order - Short Form, Linear Work Order, or Parts Issues and Returns screen, a core claim is generated if the following conditions exist:
There is a check (ü) in the Automatically create core claims when part with a core is replaced field on the Inventory - More Info tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen.
There is a check (ü) in the Core field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Parts Items -> Primary Information screen for the replaced part.
There is a check (ü) in the Core credit field on the part posting line of the screen from which you are posting charges for the part.
There is a zero (0) in the Core unit value field on the part posting line of the screen from which you are posting charges for the part.
Core claims may also be generated for a defined part that is not from inventory.
A core claim may not be generated for an undefined part. If an undefined part that is not from inventory is issued and there is a check (ü) in the Core credit field, the Core unit value field must be greater than 0. The value of the core credit is recorded on the part posting for reporting purposes but a claim is not generated.
