Limit an asset's fuel quantity |
Use the following steps to limit fuel quantity for an asset during a time period.
Step 1. On the Basic Info and Work Hours tabs of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Calendars screen, set the number of days in the pattern and the calendar ID
Example: Calendar ID RA-0-8-M-F defines a one-week period during which fueling is allowed Monday through Friday, 00:00-08:00.
Step 2. On the Codes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen, set the maximum quantity [allowed] within [the] calendar period and the fueling calendar ID.
Example: A maximum of 250 gallons of diesel is allowed during the RA-0-8-M-F calendar period.
Pre-authorization for fuel at an ICU is based on the following rules.
If a calendar ID has not been specified for an asset, no additional validation is needed. If the asset passes all validation checks, fueling is allowed during the time period.
If a calendar ID has been specified for an asset, the system verifies that the current date and time are within the period defined by the calendar ID.
If the current date and time are not within the defined time period, pre-authorization is denied.
If the current date and time are within the defined time period, the system verifies that the quantity dispensed during the current period is less than the maximum quantity within the specified calendar period.
If the quantity for the period has been exceeded, pre-authorization is denied.
If the quantity for the period has not been exceeded and all other requirements are met, pre-authorization is granted.
Fuel codes with a capacity of 0 are not returned in the pre-authorization. This is specific to a fuel pump that is part of a pump group.
