Part Status Tracking

The Part Status Tracking tab enables you to specify whether part status tracking is in effect and to assign suffixes to part statuses.

If this feature is activated, the additional processing rules are performed only on parts that are classified as warrantable, serialized, has a core, rebuildable, or reusable. Consumables and other parts without these classification properties will have no status other than NEW, and may have any suffix that is not one of the special suffixes.

Using part suffixes enables quantity on hand, value on hand, and current unit price to be tracked separately for each status of each part.

The fields in the Parts options section of this tab indicate whether parts status tracking is in effect and identify the suffix associated with each status.

Enable part status tracking

If this field has a check, the status and suffix of rebuildable parts, serialized parts, and components are updated as they are installed and removed, rebuilt, or scrapped.

Scrapped parts will do one of two things depending on whether the option enabled or disabled.
