Event Types |
If the Equipment Planning module is installed, the Event Types screen enables you to display and define identifying information about the types of events involved in equipment planning. These events—Bids, Estimates, Requisitions, and Deliveries—are defined using screens on the Data -> Procurement menu.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Event type ID
Identifier of the event type currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a list box. If the ID already exists, the event type's description displays to the right of the ID.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab enable you to display and define the identifying information. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Description
Text description of the event type.
The following fields specify the project type (or types) to which the event type can be assigned.
Approval event
If this field has a check, the event type may be assigned to projects that require approval. You can specify it in the Approvals field on the Event/Approval Tracking tab of the Data -> Equipment Management -> Equipment Planning -> Projects screen.
Note: If there is a check in this field and the Miscellaneous event field, you can use the event type in either or both fields on the Projects screen.
Miscellaneous event
If this field has a check, the event type may be assigned to projects that do not require approval and can be specified in the Events field on the Event/Approval Tracking tab of the Data -> Equipment Management -> Equipment Planning -> Projects screen.
Note: If there is a check in this field and the Approval event field, you can use the event type in either or both fields on the Projects screen.
Purchasing event
If this field has a check, the event type may be assigned to purchasing activities on the Event Types tab of the Data -> Equipment Management -> Equipment Planning -> Setup -> Options screen.
