Projected meter override |
Projected meter overrides occur because the application considers a unit to be due for service, based on recent meter updates within the given time frame.
The following calculation is used to determine whether a unit might be due because of meter updates:
(Current meter - meter at last service)/number of days from last service to date of last meter update = average number of miles traveled per day.
(Number of days from the last service to the date used [on the Equipment Due for Service/Inspection - by Equipment or - by Location screen]) * (number calculated in step 1) = number of miles at which the next service is due.
Example:
Current meter = 3000 date: 05/01/2003
Last PM meter = 1000 date: 04/01/2003
Date used on the Equipment Due for Service/Inspection screen: 05/31/2003
PM cycle = every 6 months or 4,000 miles
Calculation:
(3000 - 1000) / 30 = 66.6
Number of days from the date of the last PM to the date on the Equipment Due for Service/Inspection screen: 61
61 * 66.6 = 4,062
4,062: miles at which the next service is due
