Work Management Classification |
The Work Management Classification screen expands how work is managed in terms of supervisor assignment-related activities. You can create different work management classifications (WMCs) based on how you want to divide up the work. Managers can view work for their areas of responsibility (locations) and assign work based on abilities (crafts) at those locations. Bodies of work can be assigned across multiple crafts and work may be grouped by employees and tasks.
The work management classification is referred to as the craft, and the employees that belong to a given craft possess a common skill set. The WMC restricts the tasks that are assigned when an employee is assigned to a work order, but it does not limit which tasks can be charged against or selected from lists. WMCs are set up at the task, location, and employee level to drive specific employee assignment rules. They are used to default task locations.
When a new task is added to a work order, the task's WMC is matched to the location's WMC to determine the default task location. You can use the task location to associate a WMC with a group of tasks completed on a work order. If the task does not use WMCs, the work order location is the default.
Note: If a preventive maintenance task does not use work management classifications, the preventive maintenance service task location is the default. Inspection points always use the work order location as the default task location.
