What does it mean to put an equipment unit into delay status? |
Delay IDs are two-character (alpha-numeric) codes that you can define on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Work Delay Codes screen. Typical delay code descriptions could include Awaiting Equipment-Shop Responsibility, Awaiting Equipment-User Responsibility, Awaiting Parts, or Awaiting Bay. These status codes are assigned to an equipment unit on the Delay tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.
The primary purposes of work delay tracking are:
To collect information about the real costs, in terms of lost equipment availability, suffered as a result of inefficiencies in shop operations, including an insufficient number of properly equipped bays, too few technicians, and insufficient investment in parts inventories
To account for the time periods between the date and time a work order is opened and the date and time it is closed
