Basic Info


The Basic Info tab enables you to define capital categories. Categories are used for capital scoring and prioritization.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Capital category ID

Identifier of the capital category currently displayed in the grid or that you are defining. Maximum field length is 20 characters. This field has a list box. The category description displays to the right of the ID. This field is required.

Detail View

The fields in the bottom section of this tab enable you to describe the category and specify whether it affects useful life or is an active category.

Description

Text description of the category you are defining. Maximum field length is 60 characters.

Default project type for refurbishment

Default project type for refurbishment projects. This field is optional.

Project types are defined on the Setup -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Capital Project Types screen.

Project duration (months)

Project length, in months. Display only from the Setup -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Capital Project Types screen.

Default project type for replacement

Default project type for replacement projects. This field is optional.

Project types are defined on the Setup -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Capital Project Types screen.

Score affects effective useful life

If this field has a check, the score affects the equipment's useful life.

Active

If this field has a check, the category is active. Defaults to blank (not active). You may not deactivate a capital category ID that is in use on an active equipment unit.

Scenario ID

The scenario ID connects a capital category to a scenario. The scenario describes how an asset deteriorates over time. The scenario must have already been created on the Prediction Scenarios screen.
