Attributes

The Attributes tab enables you to associate attributes with a capital project. The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can search on capital project ID, description, capital project type ID, capital project status ID, capital program ID, and capital priority ID, among other values.

Capital project ID

Identifier of the capital project currently displayed in the grid or that you are defining. Maximum field length is 30 characters. May include some special characters (such as an ampersand: &). This field has a list box. The project description displays to the right of the ID. This field is required.

Note: If auto-numbering is enabled, a project ID is generated automatically when a project type is entered. Automatic numbering for project types is activated on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Setup -> Capital Project Types screen.

Delete

If this field has a check, the entire row is deleted when you click Save. Attributes may only be deleted if not assigned to active projects.

Attribute grouping ID

Identifier of the attribute grouping. This field has a list box. Attribute grouping IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Setup -> Capital Attribute Groupings screen.

Attribute ID

Identifier of the attribute. This field has a list box.

Note: If an attribute is associated with a project type, this field may populate automatically when a project type ID is entered on the Basic Info tab. Attributes are associated project types on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Setup -> Capital Project Types screen.

Attributes for capital projects are defined on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Setup -> Capital Attributes screen. To use the attribute, there must be a check in the Used on Projects field.

Attribute name

Name of the attribute. This field populates automatically. Maximum field length is 50 characters.

Text value

Default text associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 30 characters.

Numeric value

Default numeric value associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 12 characters before the decimal, and four characters after it.

Date value

Default date value (in MMDDYYYY format) associated with the attribute.

Comments

Default text comment associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 60 characters.

Path and file name

Default path and file name associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 255 characters.

Text area

Free-form area for input type of text. Accepts both uppercase and lowercase letters. Maximum field length is 4,000 characters. Input types are defined on the Default Attributes tab of the Data -> Equipment Management -> Capital Planning -> Setup -> Capital Project Types screen.
