Comments |
Note: The optional Labor Capture module must be installed to use this screen.
The Comments tab enables you to view and record comments about the labor's associated work order, specified in the Work order ID field on the Labor Capture tab. Comments are retained with the work order information as a permanent part of the unit's work history. To view and record a service request that necessitated opening a work order, see the Service Requests tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.
Example comments include a description of the service writer’s diagnosis of the work to be done or technicians’ comments about the work performed.
Tip: The accessibility of this tab depends on the entries on the Labor Capture tab:
To enter comments regarding direct time, the Entry type field must specify WORK ORDER.
To enter comments regarding indirect time, the Entry type field must specify INDIRECT TIME. Only the Labor comment field will be available for entry.
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Employee ID
Note: If there is a check in the Require password for employee labor capture field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen, you must complete the Password field before the current assignment information will display.
Valid identifier of the employee responsible for performing the labor. This field has a list box. The employee’s name displays to the right of the ID. The current labor entry is charged to this employee ID.
Password
Password of the user ID associated with the employee ID. If there is a check in the Require password for employee labor capture field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen, you must enter a password to display the current assignment information.
User IDs are associated with employee IDs on the Basic Info tab of the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Access Rights -> Users screen.
The bottom section of this tab provides areas for comments regarding the work order and labor. Both fields are optional.
Note: Both comment fields are cleared if the Entry type field (on the Labor Capture tab) is set to NONE.
Work order comments
Free-form text field in which you can enter or edit comments regarding the work order. This field is available for entry only if the Entry type field on the Labor Capture tab specifies DIRECT TIME.
Labor comment
Free-form text field in which you can enter comments regarding direct or indirect time after labor capture has stopped.
Note: This field is locked unless the Entry type field specifies either WORK ORDER or INDIRECT TIME and there is a check in the Stop current entry field on the Labor Capture tab.
