Work Order Notes


The Work Order Notes tab is accessible only when the Entry type field on the Labor Capture tab specifies WORK ORDER. The tab enables you to view and record notes about the labor's associated work order, specified in the Work order ID field on the Labor Capture tab. These notes become a permanent part of the unit's work history.

If there are notes associated with the work order, this tab displays in the alert color specified on Preferences -> Color Setup.

Detail View Header

The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.

Employee ID

Valid identifier of the employee responsible for performing the labor. This field has a list box. The employee’s name displays to the right of the ID. The current labor entry is charged to this employee ID.

Password

Password of the user ID associated with the employee ID. If there is a check in the Require password for employee labor capture field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen, you must enter a password to display the current assignment information.

User IDs are associated with employee IDs on the Basic Info tab of the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Access Rights -> Users screen.

Detail View

The bottom section of this tab provides a free-format area for notes, which are optional. Once a note has been entered, it cannot be changed or deleted. The note text automatically includes the creation date and time as well the ID of the employee who opened the labor capture.

Notes entered on this tab display on the Notes tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.
