Attributes |
The Attributes tab enables you to associate attribute groups with equipment types. Attributes enable you to add and customize information about an equipment type. These attributes can be exported into different reports.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment type
Equipment type currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. Maximum field length is 30 characters. This field has a list box. If the type already exists, the equipment type description displays to the right of the ID.
Each equipment type should represent equipment units that use the same collection of parts. Therefore, it is generally appropriate to insert an equipment type for particular manufacturer-model-year combinations. To establish different parts lists for similar equipment that is assigned to different equipment classes, different departments, or different locations, specify the appropriate entries in these fields and assign equipment units to equipment types based on the class, department, and location assignments, as well as their manufacturer, model, and year.
Tip: The best code for equipment type is year, manufacturer, model, and power train package, because that naming convention will build the most relevant parts list.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab enable you to associate attribute groupings with an equipment type. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.
Default attribute grouping ID
Identifier of the default attribute grouping. This field has a list box.
Attribute groupings are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attribute Groupings screen.
Apply default to attributes list
If this field has a check, the default attribute grouping is applied to attributes list and the screen group populates automatically. The fields in the screen group enable you to associate attributes with an equipment type.
Delete
If this field has a check, the fields to the right are deleted when you click Save.
Attribute grouping ID
Identifier of the attribute grouping. This field has a list box. Attribute groupings are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attribute Groupings screen.
Attribute ID
Identifier of the attribute. This field has a list box. Attributes are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attributes screen.
Text value
Text associated with the attribute. This field has a list box. Optional if input type is either blank or TEXT. Otherwise, this field must be blank. Maximum field length is 255 characters. Input types are specified on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attributes screen.
Numeric value
Numeric value associated with the attribute. Optional if input type is either blank or NUMERIC. Otherwise, this field must be blank. Maximum field length is four characters. Input types are specified on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attributes screen.
Date value
Date (in MM/DD/YYYY format) associated with the attribute. Optional if input type is either blank or DATE. Otherwise, this field must be blank. Input types are specified on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Types -> Equipment Type Attributes screen.
Path and filename
Path and file name associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 255 characters.
Comments
Text comment associated with the attribute. Maximum field length is 255 characters.
