Fuel/Fluid Tanks - Pumps

The Pumps screen enables you to display and define the tanks to which pumps are connected. The information on this screen is used to process fuel tickets passed from an automated fuel dispensing system with a fuel pump designated for each transaction. All pumps controlled by ICUs must be created in the system with a valid site ID. The site/pump combination determines which ICU controls the pump and enables the system to deplete inventory from the correct tank.

The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.

Site ID

Identifier of the site where the pump is located.

If the fuel system uses more than four characters in site numbers, use the last four characters. Required for fuel systems with IDs greater than or equal to 53 and for organizations that have duplicate pump or hose numbers at different sites. See the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Fueling -> Automated Fuel Tickets screen.

Pump ID

Identifier of the pump that is part of the automated fuel dispensing system at this site. The ID must be numeric (i.e., no leading zeros); ICUs require numeric characters. If there are pumps at different sites with the same pump or hose number, there must be a value in the Site ID field.

If the fuel system transmits add fluid transactions to the system as well as fuel transactions, you must define pump IDs that correspond to the fluid IDs the system uses and relate the pump numbers to the appropriate fluid IDs defined in the system. For example, if add fluid transactions are identified as originating from pump 51 and the fluid ID for this type of fluid is P, identify the pump as 51 and the tank as P. In such a case, do not define a fuel tank as number P on this screen.

See automated fuel dispensing systems.

Tank ID

Identifier of the fuel tank to which the pump is connected. If the pump ID corresponds to an fluid ID, type the appropriate fluid ID instead of the tank ID. Leading zeros and alphabetic characters are not allowed. Maximum field length is four characters. Required to add a pump ID.
