How to display data entries |
Tip: For a list of keys to use instead of the mouse, refer to the Keyboard Guide. If the screen requires information in the filter, go to how to display data entries on screens that require information in the filter.
Step 1. Access the appropriate screen from the menu.
Step 2. Click the Get Data button or select Get Data from the Action menu. (To stop the Get Data action, press Esc or click the Stop button in the toolbar.)
The grid fills with data from the database. It populates the fields in each tab with the data from the first row of the grid.
If no data matches the restrictions in the filter or if you are not authorized to display the data, the following message appears: Requested data does not exist or is not available to user.
Step 3. Select the row that contains the data entry you want to work with.
The fields in the tabs fill with the data from the selected row.
To see additional data entries, use the movement buttons.
To display additional columns of data in the grid, drag the scroll bar button at the bottom of the grid.
To access a tab, click its title.
To restrict the displayed data to those that match specific criteria, go to How to filter the data.
To sort the displayed data based on the values in specified data items, go to How to sort the data.
