How to Insert New Data Entries with Application Modules


  1. Access the appropriate screen from the menu.

  2. To view the data in the database on which to base the insert, click the Get Data button or select Get Data from the Action menu. To stop the Get Data action, press Esc or click the Stop button in the toolbar.

  3. Click the Prepare for insert button or select Insert Record from the Action menu.

In preparation for the new entry, all fields in the tabs are cleared of existing information.

  1. Type the appropriate information in the fields on the tabs. For a list of fields and their requirements, refer to online Help for the tab.

  2. To process the insertion, click the Process button or select Save record from the Action menu.

If you performed step 2, the system displays the inserted information. If you used the filter to restrict the display and the insert does not conform to the restrictions, the inserted information does not display in the grid.

If you did not perform step 2, the system processes the information but does not display it in the grid until the next Get Data action.
