Control label |
Control labels are placed on parts that are removed from equipment units but need to be retained for warranty purposes or for rebuilding. FASuite automatically prints a control label under the following conditions:
Issued part is classified as warrantable, regardless of whether the part is being replaced under warranty
Issued part is for a work order with a warranty work status of either YES or UNKNOWN. Applies to both work orders and internal rebuilds
Issued part is on a work order that includes bumper-to-bumper warranty work
Issued part is on a work order that includes component warranty work
You may want to keep a part removed in these instances.
If the Warranty field on the Basic Info tab of the Work Order Center screen specifies NO or UNKNOWN, the software checks the Warranty field on the Tasks tab for the task ID to which you are posting the part. If the Warranty field on the Tasks tab specifies YES, the system prints a control label when issuing a part classified as warrantable, regardless of whether that individual part is being replaced under warranty.
If a bumper-to-bumper warranty is not in effect and/or a component warranty is not associated with the task, then the software considers the following to determine whether to print a control label:
Part is being replaced within its warranty period
Part is a rebuildable core
Part is serialized
Other requirements for printing a control label include the following:
A label printer type with a label type of CONTROL LABEL is set up on the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Label Printer Types screen
A printer device/queue is set up to print the label printer type for your control label
The logged-in user has the printer device/queue specified as his or her default label printer
The system supports the following data types on control labels:
Task ID (for the part issue transaction)
Serial number (for the part being removed)
Failure code (for the part issue transaction)
Work accomplished code (for the part issue transaction)
Equipment ID (for the work order of the part issue transaction)
Date received (receipt date from the prior issue for the part being replaced under warranty)
