Bar Code Module |
The Bar Code module provides full support for use of bar codes to collect labor and parts data. For instructions on how to set up the Bar Code Module, see the Setup Guide.
If the Mobile Software Module is installed, you can use hand-held devices to transfer data between the application and the hand-held devices to work with data from remote locations. See the related documentation for these products.
The application supports user-defined repair codes and industry standard repair codes, such as the American Trucking Association's (ATA) Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) and the American Public Works Association (APWA), among others.
Bar code patterns automatically print on documents, such as work orders, part receipt labels, and part bin labels. You can use the Queries/Reports -> Query/Report Generator screen to generate bar codes for any data item in the application database, including employee IDs, direct and indirect time codes, repair task IDs, and PM service codes. You can also use Web Modules Reporting or any other reporting tool sold separately (such as Microsoft Access). Refer to the related documentation for these products.
The Bar Code module provides access to the following screens and tabs:
Data -> Data Capture -> Hand-held Devices
Data -> Parts Activity -> Bar Code Issues
System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Standard Printer Types - Bar Code Printers tab
For information about these screens, see Help for the individual screen.
