Basic Info |
The Basic Info tab enables you to display and define codes (identifiers) for the reasons that parts need replacement because of failure. You also can specify which symptoms the failure/cause code supports. Failure codes lists the predefined codes that are available.
Fail/cause ID
Identifier of the cause of the parts failure currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. The fail/cause ID must consist of valid bar code characters only. Maximum field length is 10 characters. This field has a choice list. The failure/cause description displays to the right of the ID.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab specify the asset categories supported by the service status. These fields are optional.
Description
Text description of the failure/cause code. Maximum field length is 30 characters.
Supports all symptoms
If this field has a check, the fail/cause ID supports all symptoms.
The Supported symptoms screen group enables you to define which symptoms the fail/cause ID supports.
Delete
If this field has a check, the entire row is deleted when you click Save.
Symptom
Identifier of the symptom. This field has a list box. Symptoms are defined on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Symptoms screen.
Tip: The choice list for the Symptom field on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Service Requests/Defects screen and the work order screens are limited to the asset categories specified on this screen.
