Work Assignment |
Tip: If you have used the Work Assignment screen in a version prior to 5.5 or have not used it previously, you must complete some additional setup before using this screen.
Most of the additional setup is located in the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen, under the Special Items tab.
You must also go to the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen. In this screen, go to the Work Orders-Options tab. Check the box for the Perform SLA out of service and in shop processing from work order screens field.
The Work Assignment screen enables you to plan the work in your shop and adjust the plan at any time. It displays work orders for both equipment units and linear assets. You can view all pending work, including unassigned service requests. You can assign work orders and tasks to bays, and assign multiple technicians to the same task on a work order.
You can schedule work to be performed on a specific day and during a specific shift. This capability allows you to schedule—in advance—specific equipment units for preventive maintenance (PM) services or inspections. Your customers can pick a time to have work performed, and you can use the Work Assignment screen (in conjunction with the Work Order Center screen) to manage the request. You can also use this screen to schedule or assign complaints and service requests.
