Printers |
The Printers tab enables you to specify the printer IDs used by specific users.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
User ID
Identifier of the user currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a list box. If the ID already exists, the name displays next to the ID. Maximum field length is 50 characters.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab specify the printers used by the specified user. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Delete
To delete the entries in the fields to the right, place a check in this field and click Save.
Printer ID
Identifier of a printer used by the specified user. This field has a list box. When the user signs in, this printer ID displays in all Printer ID list boxes.
Device/queue name
Name of the device or printer queue for the printer ID. Auto-populates after a printer ID is specified. This field is display only.
Default standard printer
If this field has a check, the specified printer is the one that the user uses most frequently. Windows is used to manage printer access. This field has a list box. When the user signs in, this printer ID displays in all Printer ID fields, but the user can change it.
Tip: If this field has a check, when using Supervisor Portal in Web Modules, a dialog box will display to optionally print the work order. It is recommended that this field is left blank (unchecked).
Printers are defined on the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Printer Devices/Queues screen.
Default label printer
If this field has a check, the specified printer is the one that the user uses most frequently to print labels. This field has a list box. The selected printer must be defined as a label printer. When the user signs in and prints labels, this printer ID displays in all Printer ID fields, but the user can change it.
