Department Rights Template

The Department Rights Template  (or Department Access) screen enables you to display and define department-specific access rights templates. Department Rights templates, when associated with a user group, determine which department data users of a particular screen can view or modify.

If there is a check in the Grant access to data only for authorized department IDs checkbox for a user group on the Special Rights tab of the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Access Rights -> User Groups screen, group members will only have access to the data specified on the Department Rights Template assigned to the group. Access to department data not explicitly allowed by the template is not permitted on certain screens.

See department-level access control for more information.
