Delete a serialized part


To delete serialized parts with zero quantity:

 

Step 1.   Go to Data -> Parts Items -> Location Information.

Step 2.   Filter on parts that have a suffix that is serialized and have a quantity that is greater than 0.

Step 3.   Go to Data -> Parts Items -> Serialized Parts.

Step 4.   Filter on the part ID, suffix, and location that you used on the Location Information screen.

The results should be the same as those on the Data -> Parts Items -> Location Information screen.

Step 5.  Go to the Data -> Parts Activity -> Status Transfers screen.

Step 6.  Click Prepare for Insert .

Step 7.  Enter the location and part ID.

Step 8.  Enter the serial number, new status, and quantity and click Process .

Step 9.  Go to the Data -> Parts Items -> Location Information screen.

Step 10.  Filter on the part again.

The original part ID and suffix have a quantity of 0.

Step 11.  Delete the original part ID and suffix.

Step 12.  Filter on the part with the new suffix of the scrapped part.

The quantity equals the one that you set.  

Step 13.  You must now adjust the part and suffix combination to 0.

Step 14.  Go to the Data -> Parts Activity -> Adjustments screen to adjust the new part ID and suffix.

Step 15.  Click Prepare for Insert .

Step 16.  Enter the part ID, suffix, and location.  

Step 17.  In the Adjustment type field, select QUANTITY ONLY and click Process .

Step 18.  Go to the Data -> Parts Items -> Location Information screen.

Step 19.  Filter on the part ID.

The scrapped part has a quantity of 0.

Step 20.  Delete the scrapped part and suffix.

Step 21.  Go to the Data -> Part Items -> Primary Information screen.

Step 22.  Filter on the part ID and delete the primary record for the part.
