Repair serialized parts |
To repair a serialized part internally:
Step 1. Go to the Data -> Parts Repair -> Internal Rebuilds screen.
Step 2. Click the Prepare for Update button .
Step 3. Enter information in the applicable fields, including those on the Serial Numbers tab.
Note: If the part being repaired is serialized, it must have a status of AWAITING REBUILD (specified on the Data -> Parts Items -> Serialized Parts screen). If it does not, the system creates a separate record to reflect this status. A serialized part cannot be used to rebuild a part.
Step 4. Click the Process button .
To repair a serialized part externally (i.e., send it out for repair):
Step 1. Go to the Data -> Parts Repair -> External Rebuilds screen.
Step 2. Click the Prepare for Update button .
Step 3. Enter information in the applicable fields, including those on the Line Items tab.
Note: If the part being repaired is serialized, it must have a status of AWAITING REBUILD (specified on the Data -> Parts Items -> Serialized Parts screen). If the line item status is set to CLOSED and no parts were received, the part status is set to SCRAPPED.
Step 4. Click the Process button .
