Basic Info |
The Basic Info tab for class/task information enables you to define the estimated hours required and the estimated rate to charge to complete a particular task on an equipment unit in the class. It also enables you to specify whether the task should be added to repair orders or PM orders, and whether position information is required.
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Equipment class ID
Identifier of the class of equipment unit. This field has a list box. The class name displays to the right of the ID. An equipment unit’s class for standards determines which entries on this tab apply to the unit.
Equipment units are assigned to equipment classes for standards on the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Task or standard ID
Identifier of the single repair task, repair group, or PM service to base the standard on. This field has a list box. The following choices are appropriate for basic information:
Any repair group: Repair group number
Any repair task: Complete repair task code
Any PM service: Letter that designates the PM service
Any standard: Valid ID of a standard. See also metric variant. Examples:
MPG: Miles per gallon (fuel)
GPH: Gallons per hour (fuel)
MPQ: Miles per quart (oil) (in thousands)
L/100KM: Liters per 100 kilometers (fuel)
L/HR: Liters per hour (fuel, oil)
KM/L: Kilometers per liter (oil) (in thousands)
$TO: Total operating cost (fuel, fluids, miscellaneous)
$TR: Total repair cost
$TP: Total PM cost
The task description displays to the right of the ID.
Data in the fields at the bottom section of this tab define the labor rates for the task, specify whether the task should be added to repair orders or PM orders, and whether position information is required. For more information about rates, go to Calculation of standard labor rate. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Flat labor rate
Flat cost for labor required to complete the task on an equipment unit in this class for standards. If this rate is not zero (0), it is used as the ENTIRE labor charge for all occurrences of this task for equipment units in the class. Labor hours are recorded but not used when labor cost is computed.
You can use this rate to set up flat rate charges for PM services. It supersedes any average system labor rate specified on the Rates and Markups tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen. This rate is no used on outside work orders.
To learn how labor rates are determined, go to Determine labor rates.
Hourly labor rate
Rate per hour for labor required to complete the task on an equipment unit in the class. If this rate is not zero (0), it is used to compute labor charges for all occurrences of the task on outside work orders ONLY for equipment units in this class for standards.
Add as expected task on all repair orders for units in resources class
If this field has a check, the system adds the task or standard ID to the Tasks tab of the Work Order Center screen and the hard copy of the work order. Applies to equipment units that the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen assigns to the equipment class for resources, if the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen or Work Order - Short Form screen specifies a job type of REPAIR.
Add as expected task on all PM orders for units in resources class
If this field has a check, for all equipment units that the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen assigns to the equipment class ID as the equipment class for resources and for which the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen or Work Order - Short Form screen specifies a job type of PM, the task or standard ID is added to the Tasks tab of that screen and the hard copy of the work order.
Requires positional information
If this field has a check, a position ID is required when posting labor, parts, or commercial entries to a work order for the equipment unit.
Note: The validation only applies to REPAIR and PM orders for equipment that has a class type of Resources (Resources is a class setting found on the Equipment Class - Primary Information screen, Functions tab). This option does not apply to inventory rebuilds.
Linear asset
Segment marker offset default: Set one of these options to decide when to default a linear offset range for a given task.
Range: This option displays the slider to set the linear offset information as normal. Users can select To and From points along the linear asset as normal.
Point Work: This option allows users to work on a single point along the linear asset. Users can select a single point on the slider when choosing offset information. This option hides the To fields and only displays the From field options.
Whole Asset: This option defaults the entire length of the asset to the work order and does not allow the user to select a portion or point on the asset.
