Tools Required |
The Tools Required tab enables you to specify the tools required to perform a task on equipment units in the class. An equipment unit’s class for resources determines which entries on this screen apply to the unit. The Shop Scheduling module considers tools to be a resource required to perform a task. Because the module considers resource availability when it schedules the tasks, it uses the information on this screen to ensure that the required tools are available.
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Equipment class ID
Identifier of the equipment class for resources (assigned to equipment units on the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen). This field has a list box. The class name displays to the right of the ID.
Equipment classes are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen.
Task or standard ID
Identifier of the single repair task, repair group, PM service, or standard that includes the tasks. This field has a list box. The following choices are appropriate for PM tasks:
Any repair group: Repair group number
Any repair task: Complete repair task code
Any PM service: Letter that designates the PM service
Any standard: Valid ID of a standard. (See also metric variant.) Examples:
MPG: Miles per gallon (fuel)
GPH: Gallons per hour (fuel)
MPQ: Miles per quart (oil) (in thousands)
L/100KM: Liters per 100 kilometers (fuel)
L/HR: Liters per hour (fuel, oil)
KM/L: Kilometers per liter (oil) (in thousands)
$TO: Total operating cost (fuel, fluids, miscellaneous)
$TR: Total repair cost
$TP: Total PM cost
The task description displays to the right of the ID.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab, presented in the Tool types required to perform this task on units in this class group data table, specify the tool types. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Delete: To delete the entries in the fields to the right, place a check in this field and click Save.
Tool type: This is the tool type required to perform the task on equipment units in the class. This field has a list box. Tool types are defined on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Tools -> Setup -> Tool Types screen.
Quantity: This is the quantity of the tool type in the Tool type field required to perform the task once on an equipment unit in the class.
Hours: The number of hours required for the task.
Tool type description: Description of the tool type in the Tool type field. This field is display only.
