The Lookup tab for controls enables you to display the location from which to obtain the information to display in a control. Only system administrators can update data on this tab.
To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on screen ID, window ID, control order, default title, and grid order.
The fields in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Screen ID
Identifier of the screen on which the control appears. This field has a list box. The screen name displays to the right of the ID. To determine the screen ID for a specific screen, refer to How to display a field's properties (screen, window, and control IDs; and table and column name).
Window ID
Identifier of the window in which the control appears. This field has a list box. The window name displays to the right of the ID. To determine the window ID for a specific window, refer to How to display a field's properties (screen, window, and control IDs; and table and column name).
The bottom section of the tab displays the lookup information. For users, all fields are display only.
Lookup target control
Number of the control that contains the information displayed by the control.
Table name
Name of the table that contains the information displayed by the control. To determine the table name for a specific field, refer to How to display a field's properties (screen, window, and control IDs; and table and column name).
Column name
Name of the column in the table that contains the information displayed by the control. To determine the column name for a specific field, refer to How to display a field's properties (screen, window, and control IDs; and table and column name).
Column list
List of columns in the table from which to obtain the values displayed by the control.
