More Info |
The More Info tab enables you to specify the default warranty period (months and meter units) for an equipment type. This information is used to calculate the capital planning values for multiple equipment units. Information about greenhouse gases, fuel efficiency, useful life, and inflation factor is also recorded on this tab.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment type
Equipment type currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. Maximum field length is 30 characters. This field has a list box. If the type already exists, the equipment type description displays to the right of the ID.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab enable you to set the default warranty period. All fields are optional.
Months
Number of months in the warranty period. Must be a positive number. Defaults to 0. Maximum field length is five characters.
Meter units
Number of meter units in the warranty period. Must be a positive number. Defaults to 0. Maximum field length is 38 characters.
Greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) are determined using built-in calculations in the database. GHG emission totals factor in both on- and off-road vehicles. The main GHGs for transportation are Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), and Nitrous Oxide (N2O).
Fluorinated gases are also a type of GHG, but are not a product of internal combustion engines. These emissions can result from the production of electronices (i.e., semiconductors) and may be important to consider for Scope 3 emission inventories.
All emissions, unless otherwise noted, are measured in each fuel type's respective unit of measure as described in the table below:
Fuel Type |
Unit of Measure |
BEV |
kWh |
Gasoline |
gallon |
Diesel |
gallon |
CNG |
gasoline gallon equivalent (GGE) |
LPG |

LNG |

E85 |

B20 |

RD20 |

RD100 |

Emission factors are described in both kilograms (Kg) and grams (g), however, GHG emission totals are provided in metric tons.
For more information, see Fuel Types.
Vehicle type
The type of vehicle. This field has a list box.
Fuel class
The fuel class associated with the vehicle type. This field has a list box.
On road
If this field has a check, the equipment is used on the road.
City
Miles per gallon reading for city driving.
Highway
Miles per gallon reading for highway driving.
Combined
The combined miles per gallon reading for city and highway driving.
Note: To calculate combined fuel economy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) weights the city at 55 percent and the highway at 45 percent and uses the following equation: Combined fuel economy = 1/((.55/city) + (.45/highway))
Minimum Months: The minimum age (in months) at which federally funded vehicles may be retired without penalty. Cannot be less than zero.
Minimum Meter: The minimum meter reading at which federally funded vehicles may be retired without penalty. Defaults to the minimum life meter. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected Months: The age (in months) that the agency either expects or plans to retire its vehicles. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected Meter: The meter reading at which the agency either expects or plans to retire its vehicles. Cannot be less than zero.
Manufacturer Months: The age (in months) that the manufacturer estimates to be the equipment's expected life. Cannot be less than zero.
Manufacturer Meter: The meter reading that the manufacturer estimates to be the equipment's expected life. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected replacement cost
Expected cost to replace the equipment. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected rehabilitation cost
Expected cost to rehabilitate the equipment. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected rehab cycle months
Expected length of the rehabilitation cycle, in months. Cannot be less than zero.
Expected rehab cycle meter
Expected meter after the rehabilitation cycle. Cannot be less than zero
Maximum rehabs
Enter the maximum number of allowable rehabs for an asset.
For example, a road can only have a certain amount of fixes performed (potholes, cracks, etc.) in the same area before the area needs to be completely redone in order to fix underlying structures that could continue causing breakdown of the area.
Procurement lead months
Procurement lead time, in months. Defaults to 0. Must be greater than or equal to zero.
Inflation factor
Inflation factor. Defaults to 0. May be a positive or negative number. Maximum field length is eight digits, with four digits after the decimal point.
