Cross-reference entries |
Part ID fields on screens (other than the Data -> Parts Items -> Primary Information and the Data -> Parts Items -> Location Information screens) enable you to enter any part identifier that is a valid FASuite cross-reference entry for the part ID. The cross-reference part number is automatically converted to the appropriate FASuite part ID. If more than one part ID is associated with the cross-reference part number, a list of FASuite part IDs appears.
Part cross references are created automatically under the following circumstances:
When two parts are merged. FASuite creates two 2-way cross-references between the old part ID and the surviving part ID. If one cross-reference is deleted, both cross references are deleted.
When you change the manufacturing part number for an existing part.
When you create a new part and enter the manufacturing part number.
Part cross-references are defined on the Data -> Parts Items -> Cross-references screen.
