Completion |
The Completion tab enables you to release parts to stock throughout the rebuild process (without having to close the work order). You can also use this tab to scrap a part that cannot be rebuilt. You can return released items from stock back to the work order to make corrections and/or post additional costs to the work order. You can reverse a release to stock, post additional cost corrections, and re-release to stock, even if the work order is already closed. The reopen feature is available only on internal rebuild work orders that were originally closed using version 5.7 or higher.
You cannot delete a work order if parts have been released to inventory.
Note: If the internal rebuild work order is CLOSED, the Completion tab is locked and cannot be edited.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on work order location ID/year/number, job status, part ID/suffix, current work delay, or work class, among other values. If you specify a cross-reference part ID and the system cannot find it, it searches for and displays the applicable system part ID.
You can also use the sort button to arrange the order in which work order IDs are listed. If you do not specify a sort sequence, IDs are listed in descending order by the Date and time in field (specified on the Basic Info tab).
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Work order ID
Identifier of the work order currently selected in the grid or that you are inserting (or opening). The work order ID is composed of three parts: the location, year, and number. The location part of the field has a list box.
Job status
Job status of the work order. This field is display only. The job statuses are as follows:
OPEN: The work on the work order has not yet been completed.
WORK FINISHED: Shop personnel have completed the work and placed a check in the Date and time finished field on the Basic Info tab for this work order.
CLOSED: The work order is no longer open.
PENDING: Work has not yet started on this work order.
Current work delay
Identifier of the reason for the current work delay, if any, on the work order. The work delay description displays to the right of the ID. Display only from the Work delay ID field on the Delay tab.
Part ID
Identifier of the part. Display only from the Basic Info tab.
Part suffix
Suffix associated with the part ID. Display only from the Basic Info tab.
The fields in the bottom section of the tab provide more information about the rebuilt parts released to inventory. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.
Items completed and released to inventory
Quantity
Number of rebuilt parts released to inventory. If the part is not serialized, must be greater than zero. If the part is serialized, must be either -1 or 1. Cannot be greater than the rebuild quantity listed on the Basic Info tab.
Scrapped
If this field has a check, the part was scrapped.
Unit cost
Unit cost of the rebuilt part (total cost divided by quantity released). This field is display only.
Total cost
Total cost of the rebuilt parts (total cost of work order minus total cost of released items), which is placed in inventory. If the part was scrapped, costs incurred on the core prior to determining that it needed to be scrapped are rolled into the normal stock of the rebuilt versions of that part. Display only.
Release date
Date (in MMDDYYYY format) that the rebuilt part was released to inventory. If you are scrapping the part, this is the date that the core was scrapped. Defaults to current date when a quantity is entered. Cannot be earlier than the date and time in listed on the Basic Info tab, nor can it be a future date.
Serial number
Serial number of the rebuilt parts. If the part was serialized, this field is required. This field has a list box of the serial numbers listed on the Serial Numbers tab that have not yet been released (i.e., the Completed checkbox is blank).
Bin ID
The identifier of the bin where the items are located.
Return put-away card ID
Allows a user to specify a Return Put-Away Card when performing a return. This could be useful if wanting to return items that are in the receiving area or were never put into available inventory.
If a return put-away card ID is entered, the system adds a return row for the quantity removed from the staging area
If a return put-away card ID is empty, a stocking ticket is created to remove the quantity from the stock.
