Status of STANDBY


No equipment units of the pool vehicle type are available at the dispatch location on the date and time required until the date and time of expected return (see the Status/Other Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Motor Pool -> Motor Pool Center screen).

You can insert or delete reservations with the status STANDBY. You can update STANDBY reservations without changing the status, or you can change the status to CONFIRMED or REFUSED.

If a reservation is inserted or updated with a status of STANDBY (either manually or through end-of-day processing) and there is a check in the Print motor pool confirmation tickets field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Departments -> Primary Information screen and the Message Printers tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Departments -> Primary Information screen specifies one or more printer ID (or IDs) for the reservation's department ID, confirmation tickets are sent to those printers.

During end-of-day processing, reservations with a status of STANDBY are examined to determine whether an equipment unit of the pool vehicle type has become available for the required time period. If so, the reservation status is automatically upgraded to CONFIRMED.

When the availability of equipment for a STANDBY reservation is evaluated, the pool vehicle type is searched for availability assigned to the reservation. If no units of that type are available, the other pool vehicle types listed are listed for that type on the Other Types tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Motor Pool -> Setup -> Pool Vehicle Types screen in the ranking order listed for other types.
