Message Printers (Departments)


The Message Printers tab for departments enables you to display and specify the printers on which departments receive messages.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Department ID

Identifier of the department currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. If the ID already exists, the department name displays to the right of the ID. This field has a list box.

Detail View

Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab specifies the printers on which the department receives messages.  

Delete

If this field has a check, the entire row is deleted when you click Save.

Printer ID

Identifier of the printer that accepts messages sent to this department. This field has a list box of those printers that have a check in the For messages only field on the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Printer Devices/Queues screen. This field is optional.

If the optional Motor Pool module is installed and you want to send a fax to the department about the motor pool, you can specify the printer ID on the Output Control tab of the Motor Pool Center screen or in the Output destination field on the Manage tab of the Query/Report Generator screen. If the Service Level Agreements module is installed, messages are automatically sent to this printer regarding changes in the operational status of the department’s equipment units. The following operational status changes generate messages:

If the optional Motor Pool module is installed and there is a check in the Print motor pool confirmation tickets field on the Basic Info tab, the printer prints messages about reservations that are made through the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Motor Pool -> Motor Pool Center screen and have a reservation status of either STANDBY or CONFIRMED.

Output destination and printer description

Output destination and description of the printer in the Printer ID field. The destination displays after you specify the printer ID. Display only.
