Stops |
The Stops tab enables you to record detailed information about the stops associated with a schedule.
You also may specify and change if necessary the order of stops on a schedule. If you need to add a stop to the middle of the schedule stop sequence, specify a different order for the stops.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on schedule ID, from/to date, effective date, discontinued date, route ID, and schedule type ID. You can also specify whether to display current active schedules, discontinued schedules, or all schedules.
The field in the top section of the Basic Info tab identifies the schedule.
Schedule ID
Identifier of the schedule. This field is display only. The schedule ID description displays in the unlabeled field to the right.
The fields in the bottom section of the tab enable you to provide high-level information about the stops associated with the schedule. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.
Distance
Enter distance of 0 to recalculate from route data
Distance of route. If you are recording a new stop and want the distance calculated automatically, leave this field blank. The application uses the information in the Distance from last field on the Data -> Operations -> Setup -> Routes screen. Distance is calculated as the distance between the first entered stop and the last entered stop, based on the distance from last sequence specified between the stops on the route.
If you are modifying an existing record, type 0 in this field to have the value recalculate automatically. If you type a value greater than 0, it will not be overwritten.
Default stop information from route
If this field has a check, the Stops screen group auto-populates with detailed stop information for the route specified on the Basic Info tab (i.e., stops, times, and total distance). The arrival and departure times display for each stop with a "minutes from last" value greater than 0. If all the "minutes from last value"s for the route are 0, then only the Departure and Destination fields are filled.
Note: Outbound is the default direction on route stops. If the Inbound/outbound field on the Basic Info tab specifies INBOUND, however, stops are listed in reverse order. All other data items also default to reverse order.
Tip: This checkbox is only available during the initial entry of a schedule, not when modifying an existing record. It auto-populates all the stops on the route. If you do not want the data to be overwritten, do not select the checkbox. Instead, enter the stop ID, arrival time, and departure time manually. The stop ID choice list will be restricted to only those stops on the route chosen for the schedule.
Departure Stop ID
Identifier of the departure stop for the route. Auto-populates with the initial departure stop ID for the route specified on the Basic Info tab. This field is display only.
Departure Time
Departure time (in HH:MM:SS format) associated with the departure stop ID. This field is optional.
Destination Stop ID
Identifier of the destination stop for the route. auto-populates with the initial destination stop ID for the route specified on the Basic Info tab. Display only.
Destination Time
Destination time (in HH:MM:SS format) associated with the destination stop ID. This field is optional.
The Stops screen group lists detailed information about the stops. If the Default stop information from route check box was selected, these field populate automatically. If you are entering the stops manually, at least two stop IDs must be listed: the initial departure stop and the final destination stop. Others may be listed as needed. All stops listed in this group also display on the Stops tab of the Data -> Operations -> Trips screen.
Note: If the Inbound/outbound field on the Basic Info tab specifies INBOUND, stops are listed in reverse order.
Delete
If this field has a check, the entire row is deleted when you click Save.
Order
Numeric order of the stop ID. The maximum field length is three characters. Stops must be entered in sequential order.
Note: Outbound is the default direction on route stops.

Identifier of the stop. This field has a list box.
Stop IDs are defined on the Data -> Operations -> Setup -> Stops screen.
Stop name
The name of the stop.
Arrival time
Time of arrival at the stop in HH:MM:SS format. If this is the initial departure stop, leave this field blank. If this is the final destination, specify the time. If this is an intermediate stop, entry is optional. The time will be validated against the previous stop, however.
Departure time
Time of departure from the stop in HH:MM:SS format. If this is the initial departure stop, specify the time. If this is the final destination, leave this field blank. If this is an intermediate stop, entry is optional. The time will be validated against the previous stop, however. The departure time must be later than the arrival time.
