Crew Runs |
Crew runs are jobs that are assigned to specific schedules on specific days. Engineers, conductors, and other employees bid for their “shifts”.
The Crew Runs screen enables you to record the results of those bids. A crew run must have a start date (the date at which the assignment becomes effective), but does not need to have a discontinue date if you do not know when the next bidding period will begin. The information entered on this screen is used on the Schedules screen.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Crew run ID
Identifier of the crew run. The maximum field length is 15 characters. The crew run ID is required, and must be unique for the time period. This field has a list box. If the ID already exists, its description displays in the unlabeled field to the right.
The bottom section of the tab enables you to provide more information about the crew.
Occupation ID
Identifier of the crew member's occupation. This field has a list box. If the occupation ID already exists, its description displays to the right of the ID. If you are defining a new occupation ID and include a description, that information displays to the right of the Crew run ID field. This field is required.
Occupation IDs are defined on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Setup -> Occupations screen. To be included in the list box on this screen, an occupation ID must be both active and designated as for operations.
Start date
The start date of the crew run in MM-DD-YYYY format. This field is required.
Discontinue date
The last date on which this crew run is valid; may be left blank until known. This field is optional.
Employee ID
Identifier of the employee assigned to the crew run. This field has a list box. The employee name displays to the right of the ID. This field is required.
Employee IDs are assigned on the Personal Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Primary Information screen.
Location ID
Identifier of the operations location. This field has a list box. The location description displays to the right of the ID. Although this field is not required by the application, it is needed to use the Dispatch Trips screen.
Location IDs are defined on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen. To be included in the list box on this screen, a location ID must be designated as for operations.
