Occupations |
The Occupations screen enables you to define occupations, such as conductor, engineer, dispatcher, and verifier, and specify whether they apply to operations. This association is important on screens where occupation is important, such as Crew Runs.
Tip: When assigning employees to crew runs, spareboards, or trips, only those occupations that are for operations and only those employees with the assigned occupation displays.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Occupation
Occupation currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a choice list. If the occupation already exists, its description displays to the right of the field. This field is required.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab provide more information about the occupation. All fields are optional.
Description
Text description of the occupation. The maximum field length is 60 characters.
Active
If this field has a check, the occupation is active. Active occupations display in drop-down lists on employee and operator screens.
Operations
If this field has a check, the occupation applies to operations. This functionality enables the Operations module to filter employees by their occupation.
