Suggested time code definitions |
Note: If your organization does not operate repair or maintenance facilities, time (pay) code entries are not required.
To enter individual overtime charge rates for mechanics on the Rates tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Primary Information screen, there should be a time code ID with a multiplier of 1.000 and an indirect flag of NO (blank). The multiplier is 1.000 because the overtime charge rate includes the overtime adjustment.
The system can monitor time charged to work orders or all employee time. If all employee time is monitored, you should define a set of indirect time codes for various types of non-chargeable time. Indirect time codes normally have a multiplier of 1.000.
For a list of time codes reserved to use with the optional Bar Code module, refer to time codes 00-19.
Possible categories of indirect time include:
Absence
Buildings/grounds
Clerical
Injury
Inventory
Labor relations/union
Meetings
Overtime
Parts handling/pickup
Safety
Security
Shop scheduling
Supervision
Tool work
Training
Travel time
Vacation/holiday
