The Default C/C/C Info tab supports default values for complaint, cause, and correction (3C) data for service requests associated with tasks posted on a work order. If a 3C field on the service request does not have data, that field is populated with the information from this tab.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on task ID, description, task type, related component, and asset category ID, among other values.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab enables you to specify default information regarding symptoms, fail/cause IDs, manufacturer IDs, complaint IDs, and cause IDs. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.
Default symptom
Identifier of the symptom. This field has a list box.
Symptoms are defined on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Symptoms screen.
Default statement
Text description of the symptom. This field auto-populates when you enter a value in the Default symptom field, but you can change it. Maximum field length is 30 characters.
Default fail/cause ID
Identifier of the reason or cause of the failure. This field has a list box of fail/cause IDs that support all symptoms or support the specific symptom entered.
Parts failure/cause codes are defined on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Failure/Cause Codes screen.
Default statement
Text description of the reason for the part failure. This field auto-populates when you enter a value in the Default fail/cause ID field, but you can change it. Maximum field length is 30 characters.
Default correction comment
Text field in which you can type the default comment for the correction. Maximum field length is 255 characters.
