Basic Info


The Basic Info tab for tools enables you to display and define identifying information about tools.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Tool ID

Unique identifier of the tool currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a list box. If the tool is already defined, the name displays to the right of the ID. Maximum field length is 30 characters.

Detail View

Data in the fields at the bottom section of this tab define the basic information about the tool. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Tool type

Valid tool type to which the tool is assigned. This field has a list box. The tool description displays to the right of the type.

Tool types are defined on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Tools -> Setup -> Tool Types screen.

Location ID

Valid identifier of the location at which the tool is located.

Locations are defined on the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen.

Manufacturer name

Manufacturer of the tool.

Part manufacturers are defined on the Data -> Parts Items -> Setup -> Part Manufacturers screen.

Model

Model of the tool. This is an open text field.

Serial number

Serial number of the tool.

Original cost

Original cost of the tool.

Date acquired

Date (in MM/DD/YYYY format) that the organization acquired the tool.

Date to replace

Date (in MM/DD/YYYY format) to replace the tool.

Can be scheduled

Indication of whether tasks can be scheduled for the tool.

Date and time available for scheduling

Date and time (in MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM format) that the tool is available for scheduling.

Charge rate per hour

Hourly rate the shop charges for tasks that require the tool. This rate is used to compute the charge for the tool's use for every task performed with it.

Current status

Current status of the tool:
