Equipment Condition Ratings |
Note: This screen is available only if there is an active license for the Capital Planning module.
The Equipment Condition Ratings screen enables you to view, copy, insert, and delete equipment condition records. These records are generated by the end-of-period capital score calculation.
The system uses a condition rating system methodology to determine a SGR or condition rating for each asset consisting of one or more parts, each with different rules and parameters to affect the final score for an asset.
Score components are user-definable and configurable by type of asset. Some assets may have only a physical inspection rating, especially if they are not regularly maintained (such as IT assets); more complicated assets that have regular maintenance performed will likely have several score components. The score components for an asset are summed together to obtain a final score that totals to 100, or more than 100 for better-than-average assets with a more than expected life remaining, or less than 100 for worse-than-average assets with a less than expected life remaining.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on equipment ID, condition rating ID, source, type (e.g., Automatic, Direct Entry, Condition Score), score basis month, and score basis year.
The field in the top section of the tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit currently selected in the grid. This field has a list box. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID. This field is required
Equipment IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
The fields in the bottom section of the tab enable you to assign a condition rating to the equipment unit.
Condition rating ID
Identifier of the condition rating currently displayed in the grid or that you are defining. If the record was generated automatically, this field is populated if the scoring rules specify that condition rating ID should be included. If the record was entered manually, you may select one of the values in the list box. If you set a new value in this field, the Condition score field will be updated to match the condition rating. Optional, but must support the equipment asset category if the condition ID enforces asset category restrictions.
Asset category restrictions are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Condition Ratings screen.
Condition score
Numeric value for the condition. May be a positive or negative number in the format 10.2 (10 digits and two decimal places). If the record was generated automatically, this field is populated if the scoring rules specify that condition score should be included.
The system will lookup and overwrite the condition rating ID based on the score value entry. For example, if a condition rating of 2 or higher has an ID of GOOD, and a value of 3 is entered in this score field, the condition rating ID of this item will be set as GOOD. If the record was entered manually, you may enter whatever value you want.
Date and time
Date and time (in MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM format) that the end-of-period capital score calculation was performed. Must be earlier than today's date and time. This field is required.
Source
Source of the record. This field is required. If the record was generated automatically, this field displays CALCULATED SCORE. This field has a list box:
EQUIPMENT MASTER
SERVICE REQUEST
TEST RESULT
CALCULATED SCORE
CALCULATED COMPONENT
ASSIGNMENT
Type
The type of record. Maximum field length is 20 characters. This field is required. If the record was generated automatically, this field displays CONDITION SCORE. This field has a list box:
AUTOMATIC
DIRECT ENTRY
CONDITION SCORE
Month: Month (value between 1 and 12) that serves as a basis for the source. If the record was generated automatically, this field displays the value entered on the System Mgmt -> End of Period screen. This field is optional.
Year: Year (must be between 1753 and 2999) that serves as a basis for the source. If the record was generated automatically, this field displays the value entered on the System Mgmt -> End of Period screen. This field is optional.
