Linear Info

The Linear Info tab records from and to segment, marker, and offset entries for linear work orders. The tab is locked (unavailable for entry) unless the Entry type field on the Labor Capture tab specifies WORK ORDER and the work order ID is for a linear asset. Linear asset work orders are created on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Linear Work Order screen.

For a list of keys to use instead of the mouse, see Keyboard Guide.

Notes:

Detail View Header

The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.

Employee ID

Valid identifier of the employee to whom current labor entry is charged. When you enter an ID in this field, the current system date and time automatically display in the Begin date and time field. This field has a list box. The employee’s name displays to the right of the ID.

On the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Primary Information screen, the Scheduling tab must have a check in the Charges time field and the Rates tab must have a value in the Default time code ID for work order charges for the employee.

Password

Password of the user ID associated with the employee ID.

If there is a check in the Require password for employee labor capture field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen, you must enter a password to display the current assignment information. User IDs are associated with employee IDs on the Basic Info tab of the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Access Rights -> Users screen.

Detail View

The fields in the bottom section of the tab provide segment, marker, and offset information for linear assets.

Marker ID/segment ID

From

Identifier of the marker and segment at which the asset originates. These fields have two list boxes (one for markers and one for segments). The From marker ID is required . When you type or select a marker ID, the system determines how many segment IDs are assigned to it.

The marker description displays in the unlabeled field below the marker ID.

To

Identifier of the marker and segment at which the asset terminates. These fields have two list boxes (one for markers and one for segments). The To marker ID is required . If the marker is assigned to more than one segment ID, you must select a segment ID from the list box. Both markers must be on the same segment. The marker description displays in the unlabeled field below the marker ID.

Offset

Distance along the segment from the From and To marker IDs, respectively.
