Overview - Linear Assets |
The Linear Assets module enables you to manage linear assets such as roads, as well as other assets such as signals that are associated with linear components and for which you need to plan and track a history of inspections, defects, repairs, and maintenance.
Note: Non-linear assets do not display on this screen. Use the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
When used with the Operations module, the Linear Assets module enables you to identify how operations activities can affect scheduling and performance throughout the entire fleet system.
To add a linear asset, the following tasks must be completed in order:
Create segments on the Segments screen.
Identify markers on the Markers screen.
Set up the unit of measurement for marker and segment offsets on the Options screen.
Add a linear asset using the Primary Information screen.

Establish and track detailed information about your organization's linear assets
Access to screens on which you can define marker and segment offsets; segment IDs; marker IDs; and lines
