Markups |
The Markups tab enables you to display and define information about the markups applied to the cost of parts held in inventory at specific locations. Markups can help recover the administrative costs associated with ordering, receiving, and stocking parts at a location.
Tip: You can use the filter to restrict the information that displays to a specific part ID, part suffix, inventory location, keyword, short description, product category, or part classification, among others. If you specify a cross-reference part ID that cannot be found, the applicable part ID is searched for and displayed.
The Location Information screen supports location level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.
Data in the fields in the top section of this tab are display only from the Basic Info tab.
Part ID
Identifier of the part. The ID is associated with the part suffix. This field has a zoom button (to the Data -> Parts Items -> Cross references screen, which defines cross-references of part IDs) and a list box. The part description displays to the right of the ID.
Part suffix
Number associated with the part in the Part ID field, which distinguishes it from other parts with the same part ID.
Inventory location ID
Identifier of the location where the part inventory is stored. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Data in the fields on the bottom section of this tab display the information about the markups. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Markup percentage
Markup percentage applied to the cost of the part on work orders at this location (if there is no check in either the No markup on this part field or on the Markups tab of the Data -> Parts Items -> Primary Information screen). If you do not specify a markup percentage, the next field is examined to determine parts markup percentages.
If the value is greater than the amount in the Markup cap amount field, the cap amount is used.
The format is xxx.x. For example, 13.4 specifies 13.4%.
No markup on this part
Indicates whether a markup applies to this part. If this field has a check, no markup is applied to the part's cost for this location. If this field is blank, a markup for the parts charge is automatically determined. Refer to Determining parts markup percentages.
Markup cap amount
Maximum amount applied to each posting of parts charges to this location (not to each individual part). The larger of the amounts is used: the calculated markup percentage or the value in this field. Refer to Determining parts markup percentages.
