Asset Categories |
The Asset Categories tab enables you to associate specific asset categories with priority codes or specify that the priority code support all asset categories. The priority code choice lists on various screens are restricted based on the equipment unit's asset category. You can also specify a default shop location for service requests on this tab.
Different asset categories may use the same priority code but the priority code’s definition may change depending on how the asset is used. For example, Asset Category A uses Priority Code 1 for a 1-hour repair and Asset Category B uses Priority Code 1 for a 4-hour repair. Asset categories can use the same priority code, but with different definitions for each category.
If a priority has an assigned asset category, the quantity of time units and time unit specified on this tab are used.
If a priority does not have an assigned asset category, the quantity of time units and time unit defaults to those specified on the Basic Info tab. (The time units calculate the due date for the work order or task based on the priority selected.)
The field in the top section of this tab reflects the data selected in the grid.
Priority ID
Identifier of the priority currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a choice list. The description displays to the right of the ID.
If you delete a priority ID with a priority category of OUT OF SERVICE, all rows for the priority ID are deleted from the SLA_PRIORITY and SLA_REQT_PERIOD_PRI_PERF tables. These tables track response time performance of shops for units with an equipment status of OUT OF SERVICE.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab define the asset category associated with the priority code. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.
Supports all asset categories
If this field has a check, the priority code is supported by all asset categories.
Tip: The data conversion to Release 12.x set all existing priority codes to support all asset categories.
Enforce asset category restrictions for this symptom
If this field has a check, the priority code may only be used on a work order for an equipment unit that has an asset category supported by the symptom.
The Supported asset categories screen group enables you to associate asset categories with priority codes.
