A warranty is a guarantee between a seller and a buyer stating that a product is reliable and free from known defects and that the seller will, without charge, repair or replace the item within a limited time frame and under certain conditions. A warranty claim is a record of the failure of covered parts or equipment units within the defined warranty period. Claims are generated for equipment units, components, parts, and cores.
Types of warranties includes:
Equipment bumper-to-bumper and extended warranties
Component warranties (covers major drivetrain components such as engines, transmissions, and rear axles)
Part warranties
Commercial warranties
