How to create a command file (advanced users)

The command file includes two pieces of information: the screen ID and the location and name of the data file. You can execute any number of import files. You can also use a command file to run reports.

Step 1.  Make a copy of the .imp template file, change its extension to .cmd, and open it in a text editor.

The .cmd file opens as a comma-separated values file.

Step 2.  Position your cursor on the first line at the beginning of the file and type the screen ID, directory path, and file name. Change the file name extension to .imp.

Example: Screen ID C:\Filepath\Filename

Step 3.  Delete the rest of the information in the file.

Step 4.  Save and close the .cmd file.

After you create the command file, you can execute batch processing.
