Bin Labels |
The Bin Labels screen enables you to print labels for all parts displayed in the grid (top). You can place these labels on bins that contain parts. The labels display the part ID, part description, and bin number on three lines.
To print the labels, there must be a value of 3 or more in the Number of print lines for bin label field on the Labels tab of the Data -> Parts Items -> Setup -> Options screen. If the optional Bar Code module is installed, the labels include a bar code pattern for the part number, and you must define the Number of print lines for bin label as at least 7.
If there is information in the Printer ID field on the Output Control tab, the bin labels print when you process an update for this screen. If you do not want to print bin labels, make sure the field is blank.
To print labels:
Step 1. Use the filter to specify a location ID and a range of part IDs or to specify a range of bin numbers. To print labels for all locations, leave the Location ID field blank.
Step 2. To view the data in the database, click Reload or Search.
Step 3. To specify the order in which the labels should be displayed and printed, click Sort and specify the preferred sort order and sequence (i.e., ascending or descending).
Note: The default sort order is location, part ID, part suffix, and bin ID.
Step 4. To unlock the data from the database, click the Edit.
Step 5. On the Output Control tab, specify a printer in the Printer ID field.
Step 6. Click Save.
Bin labels are printed for all parts displayed in the grid. Information defined on the Label Printer Codes tab of the System Mgmt -> Printers -> Label Printer Types screen for the label printer you specified in the Printer ID field in step 4 determines the bin label format.
