Component Tree |
The Component Tree tab displays a graphical representation of the relative nesting of components for an equipment unit. It also displays descriptive information for each equipment unit in the relationship tree.
The Component Relationships screen supports location-level access control. If it is in effect, the logged in user must have view rights to the access rights location for the equipment ID to view records and update rights to the access rights location for both the equipment ID and component ID to insert, update, or delete records.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit currently selected in the grid. This field has a list box. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID.
The Component Tree field in the bottom section of this tab displays the nesting components once the Load component relationships button is clicked. The listing for each item displays the equipment ID, equipment type, serial number, and description. When you move your cursor over an equipment ID in the tree, a popup window (like a tool-tip) displays the equipment type, serial number, and description.
If an entry is preceded by a plus sign (+), additional details are available. Double-click the entry to expand it.
To display additional information about the equipment unit, select the equipment unit ID and right-click or click the zoom button located to the right of the field. The Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen appears.
Tip: To break a component relationship (because one of the units is retired, for example), delete the applicable line. Once the line is deleted, the relationship is broken and you can add a new line with a new relationship.
