Employee Labor Capture |
Note: The optional Labor Capture module must be installed to use this screen.
The Employee Labor Capture screen enables you to record labor information in real time as you start and complete each indirect time task or each task on equipment unit or part rebuild work orders. Relevant information from this screen displays on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Current Labor Assignments screen.
If the optional Mobile Software is installed, you can use hand-held devices to transfer employee labor information between the software and the hand-held devices in order to work with the data from remote locations. See the related documentation for these products.
Note: You cannot start labor capture for work orders that are currently in delay. To stop the delay in order to post labor charges, first use the Labor Capture tab on this screen to stop the labor and then use the Delay tab on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen to stop the delay.
For each work order task and indirect time completion, a labor transaction is generated for immediate processing. You can make as many labor entries as you like; you do not need to wait until you complete a task (which may take several days) before you make an entry.
The following employee information is tracked:
IDs; descriptions; and begin and end times of labor
IDs and descriptions of completed tasks
IDs and descriptions of indirect time assignments
When you stop labor capture for a work order task, the labor charges are posted to the work order and the Facility Summary (FAC_MAIN) table. The work order labor hours are charged to the location code in the first part of the work order.
The Data -> Shop Activity menu has several screens on which you can post labor charges to work orders: the Work Order Center screen, the Work Order - Short Form screen, the Time Cards screen, and the Linear Work Order screen (linear work orders only). The labor charges are posted in the same way from each screen. You can also post labor charges by using hand-held devices.
